Fellow members,
Because I have learned that a Beekeeping 101 instructor made the statement that there are no regulations pertaining to honey extraction, I'm reiterating that there are if you intend to sell honey. If you don't intend to sell honey, then you can extract as you will. This presents a problem to beekeepers that would like to sell their honey following the DACTP regulations (which includes extracting, bottling and labeling) but don't have an approved kitchen or honey house. I found two facilities with approved kitchens that could be rented/used when I was searching several years ago until a friend allowed me the use of her licensed kitchen, for which I am grateful. Not everyone has a friend with a licensed kitchen so I'm sending this out to see if there's interest in pooling together to extract honey.
