Just a note concerning the Beekeeping Conference in Wausau on March 18. I enrolled in this seminar and the process was unusual for me, so I thought I’d let you know how this works. Apparently the seminar is part of the Northcentral Technical College’s Continuing Education program so registration goes through NTC. First, here’s the link to enroll: Bee Conference 2017 The “Click here for Details” button takes you to information on the seminar with a link to “Register Now” at the bottom of the page. So far, so good. After registering you’ll get a message that you have to be registered before you can pay, and they’ll get back to you. The message then goes away and you can never find it again. A week later I got a NTCNotification with my student ID and student email address. Really. I am now a registered student at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau. I’d include my student email address but I have absolutely no idea how to reach my mailbox. I also received a second email with the header “CE Registrations”. In that email was the link to pay for the seminar. (I believe “CE” stands for Continuing Education.) Good news for me, and anyone else 62 years old or older, there’s a $26.07 Waiver (credit) leaving a balance of $22.93……gas money! So I just wanted to make you aware that if you do register for this seminar how it works. I sent a couple of emails to Kelly, the Marathon County Beekeepers contact, because I didn’t know what was going on after the disappearing message, but he/she had received the same message and couldn’t tell me anymore about it. But it worked. Just took time. The Early Bird Special expires on March 1. Lunch is included. See you on Saturday! Gerard, newly minted NTC student
